Upstate International’s 5th annual kick-off party for Upstate International Month will certainly not disappoint. Who doesn’t want to RSVP to an evening of cocktails, appetizers, sambas, mambos and more? I think few would turn down a chance to dance a martini and sip the twist… or something like that.
But this event, while promising to be a night to remember, promises much more. This yearly fundraiser provides the resources for countless undertakings that make up Upstate International, and this night of twists is the opportunity for the Upstate community to join hands, embrace and empower the international community, right here in our own backyard. Home to Upstate International Month, World Affairs Council Upstate, language classes (in 8 languages!), the International Women’s Club and International Book Club, relocation support, and countless international events throughout the year, UI’s community commitment has not gone unnoticed. Over the years, they have gained support and partnership from local staples like Clemson University and Greenville Health System, and this is our chance, as citizens of the Upstate, to reach out and say “I too stand alongside Upstate International as they strive to make the global community, the Upstate community.”
So join us on Friday, February 24th, at the City of Greer Event Center, to help us celebrate community and culture as we dance the night away. Guests will have the opportunity to sample international appetizers and cocktails, and join in dancing from around the world. In addition to our annual silent auction and night of fun, we will be adding a new opportunity to support UI by purchasing a Mystery Package.
