Is the World no longer Flat?
Some Thoughts and Explanations for
the Recent Rise of Nationalism.

Nationalism has been used to define and explain everything from radical political and militaristic movements like Nazism to strong protectionist policies controlling modern foreign policy and economy.
While patriotism is perhaps harmless, nationalism is more sinister.  Why is it on the rise and is there anything we can do about it?

America and the World, our 2019-2020 popular lunch & learn lecture series is entitled FLASHPOINTS and will highlight Global Impact Issues, the areas of concern often headlining in world news.

Some of the topics to be discussed include: Global Warming, the Economics of Terrorism, the Rise of nationalism, and Free Speech in Peril, among others.  Hosted by the World Affairs Council Upstate, each lecture will be presented by published experts in their fields, includes lunch, and there will be plenty of time for questions from the audience.
