Immigration and the Effect on Children

Issues surrounding immigration are in the news everyday. To build a wall, or not to build a wall. The separation of children from their families at the border. In this discussion, we will look at the American immigration policy and compare it both to previous eras in American history but also to other trends in developing countries. Most importantly, we will discuss the impact of American immigration policy on the lives of immigrants, especially the children.

America and the World, our 2019-2020 popular lunch & learn lecture series is entitled FLASHPOINTS and will highlight Global Impact Issues, the areas of concern often headlining in world news.

Some of the topics to be discussed include: Global Warming, the Economics of Terrorism, the Rise of nationalism, and Free Speech in Peril, among others.  Hosted by the World Affairs Council Upstate, each lecture will be presented by published experts in their fields, includes lunch, and there will be plenty of time for questions from the audience.
