The Association for India’s Development (AID) – Clemson chapter, in association with Kannada Association of Greater Greenville (KAGG) is bringing one of India’s best contemporary folksinger & cultural export to Greenville, SC – Raghu Dixit. Parva-2017 is scheduled for Friday, March 24th at West End Community Development Center in Downtown, Greenville from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. This benefit concert promotes local cultural talent and features a live performance by Raghu Dixit, which is expected to draw a crowd of 500+ people.
Often hailed as India’s biggest cultural & musical export, Raghu Dixit’s unique brand of infectious, happy music transcends age, genre, and even language. His music is strongly rooted in Indian traditions and culture and is presented with a very contemporary, global sound. From playing to over 100,000 people in his home state to every big music festival in India, from Glastonbury, to the BBC, to even playing for the Queen of England and the entire Royal Family, Raghu Dixit seems to have done quite a bit!

All the proceeds from the event would be directed to pre-primary education project, which aims to educate tribal kids in Murshidabad, WB in India, and guiding them to join mainstream education. AID Clemson chapter has been working on this project for 5 years, successfully enrolling 461 children enrolled in primary schools.
