Upstate International was one of the most rewarding experiences I had during my time studying at Clemson University. As a Language and International Trade student, working with the culturally diverse community of Greenville was an excellent way for me to apply my studies and gain indispensable experience. I was always excited to go to work because the staff at UI are incredible and are very focused on making the internship experience valuable for the intern and the organization. Every day was an adventure, with different events and classes keeping the office bustling with people from all over the world. I was able to use my Spanish to assist members which was a great way for me to practice my language skills.
It’s easy to make a big impact in the community working with UI and I found this very rewarding as an intern. My time with UI was a time of growth and relationship building. I am now planning to attend graduate school in Spain at the University of Deusto following graduation and my experience at UI was key in being accepted into such a prestigious International Business Master’s program. I cannot say enough about all the positives that resulted from my internship with Upstate International and I would recommend to everyone that if they have the opportunity to intern with UI, they take it!
