Krystiane Evans

Language School Manager

Krystiane Evans holds the MA-TESOL degree from the University of Kentucky, and worked for nearly a decade on international student initiatives at her alma mater. During her time in the College of Arts and Sciences at UK, she served as the Program Manager for the Center for ESL, and also as the J-1 Scholar Language and Culture Coordinator. She has also completed extensive coursework through East Tennessee State University’s Departments of Appalachian Studies and Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Roots Music Studies. She has presented her research on local international communities before the Appalachian Regional Commission in Washington, D. C. 

Krystiane has deep roots in the Upstate’s educational community. Since moving to Greenville in 2007, she has taught at Clemson University; Greenville County Schools (Westcliffe Elementary, Greenville High, and Homebound Services); Greenville Technical College; Spartanburg Community College; and Upstate International. She is passionate about refugee resettlement, and beyond the States, has served as a consultant for language learning programs in Toronto, Canada; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Ensenda, Mexico. For four years, Krystiane lived on the Caribbean island of Vieques, Puerto Rico, and enjoyed a secondary career in ecotourism and international hostel management.

A devoted resident of West Greenville, Krystiane enjoys swimming, biking, chess, and caring for community cats. Her children have received an excellent bilingual (English-Spanish) education in their neighborhood public schools. She is the Founder of Upstate English for All: an educational consultancy and teaching cooperative based in Judson Mill.
