Brian Shea is a principal and co-founder at Simon Everett, Ltd., where he leads research and analysis projects and provides strategic advisory services to government agencies, state and local leaders, and businesses across a wide range of industries. He is currently leading a statewide initiative on behalf of the Office of the Governor and the Department of Commerce to advance South Carolina’s cybersecurity ecosystem, having previously led a study to inventory and assess the state’s cyber landscape and competitiveness. 
Brian has provided nearly two decades of analytic and strategic planning support to a wide variety of organizations, addressing such issues as organizational management for the National Association of Attorneys General; foreign area studies training for the U.S. Department of State, risk management for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence; and technology futures for the Air Force Research Laboratory. Prior to his consulting career, Brian served on Air Force active duty for 12 years as an Arabic-language cryptologic intelligence analyst and military language instructor, including six years assigned to the National Security Agency.
