There are 2 approaches to membership– you as an individual or family member, and your company as a Corporate (Mission) Partner.

The individual annual membership benefits include:

  • The opportunity to connect socially through UI’s International Women’s Club, International Book Club, Young Professionals Club, Retired and Semi-Retired Expats Group, and Conversation Clubs.

  • The opportunity to affordably learn a new language! The UI School of Languages offers classes in 10-12 languages each semester in levels A1-C2. Classes are available only to our members.

  • Free access to English, Spanish, French, Italian and German Conversation Clubs, a great way to practice speaking the language.

  • Invitations to unique programs and events such as the International Murder Mystery Night and Amazing Upstate Race.

  • Upstate International members automatically become members of the World Affairs Council Upstate, and are able to enjoy all its benefits.

  • Special reduced member discounts from many of our Corporate Sponsors, including: The Westin Poinsett, Greenville and the Swamp Rabbits.

  • Monthly newsletters and weekly e-blasts detailing internationally-related events across the Upstate

  • Free admission to UI’s member programs such as the 25th Anniversary Party (members, sponsors, and guests only), Annual Members Meeting, Humanitarian Outreach Luncheons, and Cultural Traditions.

  • Special reduced member prices on ticketed events, including the Global Upstate Conference on International Business and World Affairs, Global Business Connection Receptions and Distinguished Speaker events.

  • Through your support, UI is broadening horizons every day and providing a hub of resources and connections that helps our region thrive by:

    ·         Supporting economic development and job skills (Global Fluency Training, language classes, resource listings for incoming businesses)

    ·         Education (teaching underserved students about global careers, and helping universities ready their students for visa interviews, speakers to universities)

    ·         Living a mission of Diversity and Inclusion (removing barriers to programming, celebrating cultural diversity, offering cross cultural training, interpretation and translation support, making sure our UI Board of Directors is reflecting diversity of age, gender, race, religion, economics, and culture)

    ·         Supporting the efforts of other nonprofits with free marketing and promotions of all internationally related events and initiatives in the Upstate
