Maggi Whiston is a dynamic Double Degree Master of International Business candidate at the University of South Carolina, with plans to spend her second academic year at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. Her fascination with international cultures began in her youth through a Spanish immersion program, and she continues to broaden her linguistic skills by self-learning Mandarin.
Holding bachelor’s degrees in Graphic Communications and Marketing from Clemson University, Maggi enhances her academic pursuits by weaving in practical experience from her time in the workforce. She interned with the global manufacturing leader Milliken & Company for two years before joining full-time in 2019. As a marketing strategist, Maggi collaborated with five business units whose products span over 12 distinct markets. She supported associates in the EMEA and APAC regions to penetrate these international markets effectively. Additionally, Maggi spearheaded the Multicultural Engagement Resource Group’s cultural engagement subcommittee, showcasing her commitment to fostering workplace diversity.
Maggi returned to academia to hone her expertise in International Market Development, a decision inspired by her desire for a human-focused career and the opportunity to live abroad. Outside of her professional and academic commitments, she is deeply involved in community service. Maggi volunteers for Greenville community events and serves as the Chair of the United Way of the Piedmont Young Leaders donor network. She was a former board member of Upstate International.
