Join us for an unforgettable evening of cultural exchange as we welcome the award-winning Detska Kitka youth choir to the Hartness Performing Arts Center. Traveling all the way from Columbia’s sister city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, this renowned ensemble brings the spirit of the Balkans to South Carolina.
“A Balkan Bouquet: Sister Cities Bridged by Song” presents a captivating musical journey. The choir will perform a stunning blend of traditional Bulgarian folklore, sacred Eastern Orthodox chants, and contemporary international choral music and dance.
Leading the ensemble is Yana Deliradeva, a distinguished conductor with deep ties to both Bulgaria and the United States. A graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, Deliradeva has served as Chief Conductor since 2011, leading over 120 singers and championing music education.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness the vocal mastery and cultural heritage of one of Bulgaria’s most celebrated youth choirs.
