The previous administration launched a trade war against China. The current administration, to the surprise of many, has not dismantled the center-piece of the war, tariffs on some Chinese imports. Complicating the situation, of course, is the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruptions to supply chains that have ensued. In this talk, Dr. Nelson will discuss the origins and conduct of the US trade war with China and how the pandemic has shaped and reshaped it in 2021.
