Upstate International’s Board of Directors Application is Now Open
[Greenville, SC] – February 6, 2024 – Upstate International (UI), a non-profit organization fostering cultural diversity and global engagement, has announced the opening of its Board of Directors Applications for spring 2024. UI’s Board of Directors consists of a diverse group of community and business leaders from different backgrounds who all share the common goal of promoting a bond with international cultures, business, language, and world affairs in our region. Our board members bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, ensuring that UI is guided by a wide range of perspectives.
The board of directors plays an essential role in guiding Upstate International’s mission, vision, and strategic direction, ensuring that the organization continues to make a significant impact in the Upstate community. Members of the board collaborate with Upstate International’s staff and volunteers to organize events, activities, and initiatives that celebrate the diversity of cultures and traditions represented in the Upstate. UI is seeking talented individuals with a passion for supporting cultural diversity with a global mindset to serve on its board.
Participation on the board requires a minimum $200 annual individual membership or corporate membership and a 3 year board term commitment. Meetings occur once a month on the third Tuesday from 5:00pm – 6:30pm. Directors are expected to serve on a minimum of one Standing Committee. Committee meetings are a part of our normal meeting time.
Directors are expected to attend a minimum of six of the organization’s events annually and use their best efforts to promote participation in UI programs and initiatives. You should be able to dedicate a minimum of 5 hours a month of your time toward the organization including the board meeting. Serving on our board of directors is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community and together we can create opportunities for cross-cultural understanding, collaboration, and growth.
