2025 Host a Summer Exchange Student - Opportunity for Your Family
The Atlantic Institute SC
Call for Hosts: Paula and Maureen are currently seeking open-minded families to host summer exchange students this year. The exchange program will run from June 28th to July 26th, and we’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for families to share their culture and learn about others. As part of the program, we’ll host weekly events that the whole family can participate in. Additionally, we’ll be available to help coordinate vacation times, so if you can only host for a couple of weeks, that’s perfectly fine! Please note that the organization requires host families to either have children of their own or be very involved with families who do. Above all, the most important qualities we’re looking for are an open heart, a sense of adventure, and a genuine interest in helping others and learning about different cultures. |
You might be wondering what’s involved in becoming a host family. Requirements:
- A short application
- An interview
- Some pictures of your home and family
- A background check
Get Involved: If you’re interested or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. |

Being a part of the World Affairs Council Upstate Programming Committee means collaborating with a diverse group of professionals to design and execute events that engage the community in global topics. It involves curating impactful programs that foster international understanding and dialogue, helping to connect the Upstate region to the world.
Due to the size and scope of our month long program, Upstate International Month has a dedicated group of volunteers, a steering committee, who help coordinate, promote, support, and manage this undertaking. There are also subcommittees on education, events, marketing, finance/sponsorship, engagement, and volunteers. Click here for more information on volunteering for the Upstate International Month committees.
Being part of the Salsa at Sunset Committee means contributing to one of Upstate’s most vibrant cultural events, where music, dance, and community come together. It involves organizing and promoting a fun, inclusive celebration of Latin culture, creating an opportunity for people to connect through dance and experience the richness of diversity in the Upstate.
Upstate International offers classes in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and more. We always need more teachers in these languages, as well as in other languages such as Greek, Japanese, and Chinese. See the FAQs about teaching a language at UI.
Other ways to volunteer come up at Upstate International periodically. Contact Linley to stay aware of ongoing opportunities.
