2024 Multilingual Brochures Translation Project: Proofreaders Needed!
The National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project (NIWAP)
Call for Proofreaders: We have completed the translation of these materials using AI and are now seeking assistance from individuals with experience and expertise working with immigrant victims to help proofread, correct and edit the publication to ensure that they are the final translations are accurate, appropriate, and accessible for immigrant survivors who can read in each language before we finalize the translations for publication. We are looking for bilingual professionals who could volunteer to review and edit the translations. NIWAP was awarded a small grant to support this project and we are pleased to offer a stipend that is open to victim advocates with experience serving immigrant victims only. We expect from our tests with two languages that the proof reading and editing will take no more than 4 hours. For bilingual victim advocates we can offer a stipend of $62.50 per hour for up to 4 hours of proofreading and editing services. The funding is limited and will be allocated on first-come basis to bilingual victim advocates. |
The 18 languages we are currently prioritizing are:
- Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Dari, French, Hindi, Korean, Pashto, Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Tigrinya, and Vietnamese
Get Involved: If you are interested in joining our project as a proofreader, or if you know someone who might be qualified as a victim advocate, please reach out to us at [email protected]. |
