Dr. Rachel Vanderhill

Dr. Rachel Vanderhill is an associate professor and Chair of the Department of Government and International Affairs at Wofford College. A former Council on Foreign Relations Fellow and Senior Advisor at USAID, her research focuses on digital repression, authoritarian influence, and Central Asian politics. She is the author of Autocracy and Resistance in the Internet Age and co-author of “Between the Bear and Dragon: Multi-Vectorism in Kazakhstan” in International Affairs. Dr. Vanderhill holds a B.A. from Calvin College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
